Balatro is available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 & Xbox Series X|S

In Balatro, you play Poker Hands to increase your score and beat each round in turn. There are three rounds in each Ante: a small blind, a big blind, and a Boss Blind. Boss Blinds have a certain restriction that impacts the way you play in order to beat it. The final Ante in a traditional Balatro run, Ante 8, will be a special Boss Blind.

In all sorts of ways! Every Joker has a unique mechanism, whether that is adding a multiplier to your final score, changing the way a number card works, or giving you extra cash to spend in the in-game shop. Read the Joker descriptions and fill your Joker slots carefully.

You can unlock Jokers in the Shop during your run, as well as completing some in-game achievements such as winning a run without playing a Flush hand. You can explore the Jokers collection to see what you might need to do to unlock it.

A list of poker hands can be found via the Run Info button once in game: there are some super secret hands not listed so we challenge you to find them.

No! As LocalThunk has said, the game is not a true gambling game and any money you have in-game cannot be cashed out or transferred to a bank account.

Tarot cards are a consumable that modify aspects of the playing cards in your deck. This might increasing or decreasing their rank, changing their suit or adding extra chips. Tarots can be acquired in the shop during your run.

That depends on you! You could feel satisfied by unlocking all the decks, or collecting all the Jokers, but there are different stakes on the decks and even Challenges too! The beauty of Balatro is you'll want to come back and play more (and we're not just talking about Endless Mode!)
